Editorial Reviews:

The NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLING AUTHOR launches the new Time Hunters series.

In the 24th century, anyone can leap through time at will. To police the time jumpers, the Temporal Enforcement Agency has established a precinct in time. Galar Arvid is a genetically altered warlord and agent who’s been sent back to 2008 to save a pretty Atlanta artist from a Xeran time traveler who intends to kill her for profit. What Galar doesn’t count on is the powerful desire Jessica Kelly ignites in him. But could a romance between them work? A three-hundred-year chasm separates them and, even if they dart through time, there’s still a maniacal killer on their tails.

Summary: Back to time travel romances! Yay!
Comment: Ok first off this was so much better than her Mageverse series (which I kind of liked at first and then it went nowhere fast) but I think Knight is at her best when writing futuristic stories.

Time travel explanations usually blow my mind, but Knight kept the explanation pretty simple, so even I could understand it. I think...

Jessica was a little annoying occasionally, but overall I liked her. She has to deal with the fact that she can't return to her old life (which was pretty crappy anyway if you ask me so I'm glad she didn't cry over it for the entire book), she has to adjust to future technology, and she has a crazy killer after her and nobody can figure out why he wants her dead. Not to mention the fact she is developing some very weird powers that even the futuristic people don't believe are possible (Come on! Time travel, aliens, and engineered warriors are totally normal but a chick with telekinesis is too far out there, so it can't possibly be real?!?)

Galar is strong, capable, and seen as one tough dude. An issue from his past gives him the dreaded Trust Issues . Usually that "conflict" will drive me up the wall, viewing all women the same just because one used and betrayed you because she was a crazy B doesn't mean all women are like that!! Luckily Galar sees that Jessica is different and even when events occur that make him doubt her, it tears him up inside. The wanting to trust her, and the not wanting to endanger his people again, are shown as a huge conflict within him that (and bless Knight for this) only lasts through a handful of pages before being resolved.

I mean, come on! You can only suspect a girl for so long before you finally have to look at the FACTS, and them admit you were stupid and move on. I did think Jessica forgave and forgot pretty quickly... I'm not sure if it's just because I'm used to heroine going all emo over it and dragging it out FOREVER or if it really was a fast turn around from "He's broken my heart! Why doesn't he trust me?" to "I love the big lug, trust is overrated!"

Jessica and Galar fell for each other pretty fast, but I could see why they did. Jessica was so alone in a strange world and Galar became her rock. For Galar, Jessica was so different from the women of his time, and her complete emotional honesty was just what he needed. Which I guess when all added together becomes hot sex. Who knew?!

We're left with a lot of questions about the series in general by the end of the book. Which was disappointing but understandable, it is a series after all but STILL a few answers would have been nice. What is that snow globe thingie? What's with all the tests? Why can't I find a release date for the next book??

The characters are set up nicely for the next installment and I'm looking forward to their story... then we'll get some answers. Right? Please?

Summary: Super
Comment: Great action and adventure! Starts right off with intriguing characters and strange assassins. Knight finally returns to Jane's Warlord, with time traveling assassins and warriors. This one occuring in present day and traveling into the future. The characters are endearing and the Warrior is HOT! Hopefully we won't have to wait too long for the next one.

Summary: Finally! The Warlords and Warfems are back!
Comment: I had about given up hope of finding more stories set in Angela Knight's world of Warlords and Warfems. In this book, Galar (Son of Alina and Baird, "Warfem") is a Temporal Enforcer fighting to save artist Jessica. Jessica, who has been contaminated by alien DNA and discovers some pretty freaky side effects.

I loved that this book didn't keep the villian a secret, but instead showed him planning Jessica's murder and then slipping up behind her. The reader is left wanting to call out a warning, tell her to run or call the police in to protect her.

This was a really good sci-fi romance that very briefly touched base with families of past books (child of Jane and Baran, "Jane's Warlord," is a supporting character) and revisited a world I thought I wouldn't see again. I hope another Warlord and Warfem book is in Ms. Knight's future.

Summary: Another gem for Angela Knight!
Comment: I was especially excited when I heard that Angela Knight was coming out with another novel with Vardonese warriors. I absolutely loved Jane's Warload and was impressed by the world that Knight was able to create. Warrior certainly does not disappoint in this regard either. I will admit that I like Jane's Warload a bit more, but Warrior is certainly one of the best novels out there. I loved Galar Arvid, even if he was a blond (!) Vardonese Warload. Jessica Kelly was a great heroine who stood up to some pretty powerfully masculine men such as the Enforcers of the Temporal Enforcement Agency. Knight keeps the plot moving and does not disappoint. I highly recommend this novel. I will not summarize as reviewers have already done such a great job. Also, Angela Knight's website gives a better description of the book's plot than Amazon does.

I would recommend reading Jane's Warload as it explains the history of the Vardonese and the beginnings of time travel for this society. Plus it is a GREAT story! If you get the Warload edition, it will contain a short story entitled "Warfem". I highly recommend reading it because 1. it is a great story, but 2. it will be helpful when reading Warrior as it will give the reader insight into Galar's history. I don't want to reveal any more than that. It is not necessary to read either of these, but I feel it would not be a wasted effort.

Summary: 4 1/2 stars not quite excellnt
Comment: The book is barely saved from 5 star rating by some inconsistencies and plot problems. The editorial inconsistencies are very minor and not obtrusive mainly occasional he/she. The worst is the screen door inside the house door, after all when you are outside the house kicking in door the screen door is first (unless the deep south has gotten weirder sense I lived there). There is a relatively minor omission that bothers me. The Xeran5 is fairly obviously a religious fanatic, this would have impact down the road if not immediately. But it gets ignored by the Enforcers. The two major things that I have problems with are frieka (the genetically altered wolf) who would be shredded to a shard if hit by a shard rifle or pistol and hacked if hit by a sword. Where are the powers that make him useful in fight? I realize that this is a fantasy but that's difficult to swallow. The other thing is the Cyborgs defined as having "mechanical arms and legs". You can't handle a multi g device or make huge leaps with just arms and legs reinforced. You need to reinforce the entire body; back pelvis, shoulders etc. This kind of grated. Again this is a fantasy and avoiding explaining the irrelevant is one of the authors major strengths; but still.

Overall the usual excellently written erotic scenes and characters. The plot is very good but not excellent. But still overall an outstanding read.

This book stands on its own nicely.
