Summary: Million dollar mermaid DVD???
Comment: I very much agree with the reviews I have read particularly from Santiago Ramos Jr from the US and wish to show some support...
COME ON WARNER BROTHERS! WHERE IS THE DVD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!We too in the UK are waiting to buy this film on DVD. Though I have not yet seen the film in its entirety. All the more reason to get it out on DVD. I am very much taken with this type of movie after watching many others like it with my Nan. She is no longer with us but films like this hold many memories. And its true... THEY DONT MAKE THEM LIKE THAY USE TOO!!!
In the mean time I will continue to search the net in the hope that one day I will find it.

Summary: Warner Brothers, where's the DVD?
Comment: With all the older movies finally being available on DVD, why is it that Million Dollar Mermaid is not available on DVD? It's a crying shame that it's not out. I hope that Warner Brothers is hard at work putting this DVD together. The magical water pool scene is worth the price by itself. I will be among the first to buy it when it comes out so I can add it to my ever-growing DVD library.

Summary: A must see!
Comment: It's no wonder that this movie is so sweet a story--it's a true story, Mervyn LeRoy directed it (he also produced The Wizard of Oz), and it stars Esther Williams. You'll be glad you watched it. Inspiring for all ages.

Summary: Williams' best movie
Comment: MILLION DOLLAR MERMAID is Esther Williams' best work on film, and is the most successful attempt at combining a passable dramatic story with water ballet that was crucial to the plot of the story.Esther Williams plays the famed Australian swimmer Annette Kellerman, who wowed audiences in London and at New York's Hippodrome with her beautiful water ballets.
Williams is good as Kellerman, she seems to have the character well in hand. Never in any other picture did Williams display her considerable acting talents. She is terribly good here - both in her acting and in her swimming.
Rounding out the cast is Victor Mature, Walter Pidgeon (as her loving father), Donna Corcoran (as the young Annette), and David Brian.
There are lavish costumes and beautiful period sets. The entire production is flawless.
