Urban auteur filmmakers the Hughes Brothers (Menace II Society Dead Presidents) hit the mean streets with an "incredibly entertaining and charismatic" (Shout) expose on real-life pimps. A "snappy stylish documentary" (The New York Post) containing "blunt raw power and stylistic energy" (The Hollywood Reporter) American Pimp is "a primer on pimp craft and culture" (Shout) that takes you into the shadowy world of prostitution "putting on the screen everything you ever wanted to know about pimps" (Nuart).Cutting straight to the heart of the world's oldest profession this intimate portrait of infamous "mack-daddies" like Filmore Slim C-Note Gorgeous Dre and Rosebudd is eye-opening and shocking. From the dirty streets of New York L.A. and San Francisco to the "Players Ball" in Milwaukee you'll walk the boulevard of broken dreams and hear every heart-wrenching story and hilarious anecdote. It's an exclusive ride you've never experienced - and won't soon forget.System Requirements:Directed By: The Hughes Brothers. Running Time: 87 Min. Color. Customer Rating: Summary: GET A PEEK AT A REALLY STRANGE WAY OF LIFE Comment: Nothing amazing here, just a really interesting Film.I really cant call it a serious documentary on the business of Pussy for sale. But some interesting characters. You just got to love " Bishop Don Magic Juan " A lot of these men's ideas will feel Alien to most of us but it's interesting to hear and see there unique perspective on life and women and the Society that condemns them but is love with the Product they sell. Some of the dialogue is priceless as are some of the intimate moments between the girls and there Employers.I think the great Fillmore Slim sums it up quite eloquently " pussy always gonna sell, even when cotton and corn don't " .
Customer Rating: Summary: HAPPY!!!! Comment: I LOOKED AROUND FOR A GREAT DEAL & I GOT 1 . IT WAS FAST EASY MY ORDER CAME VERY QUICK IN A FEW DAYS & IT WAS BRAND NEW I LOVED IT
Customer Rating: Summary: Get a grip.. it IS a documentary Comment: I wonder about people sometimes.. they want the documentary to tell them right from wrong. That's just stupid.
This film is a verite style documentary.. they just interview pimps and prostitutes. Now think for a moment.. do you think these people are going to talk badly about their lifestyle? They are proud of it and say so. There are no rebuttals.. except in your own head (SO USE IT).. You HAVE to think.. and it does make you think.. because most of these guys are such good communicators and persuasive (basic skills of a good pimp) and very entertaining. You may be put off what they do, but you get to see their world from their perspective. So your brain is the filter for how you interpret the film.. don't look to the filmmakers to tell you what is right and wrong.
This is a real documentary.. its not an after 1:00 AM cable porn documentary. There is no nudity, nothing but long sentences of 4 letter words. And in my opinion, as someone who makes documentaries, it's a great one, and one of my personal favorites.
Customer Rating: Summary: Best Documentary Ever Comment: Probably the funniest documentary ever. If you love one line idioms, this is your movie. Learn the pimp parlance and use it in your daily interactions, it will get you places in life.
Customer Rating: Summary: dont confuse it man Comment: Your opinion of this movie should not be influnced by the people it represents
Pimps suck, thats true but this documentary does not
It is a lot of spittin game, which sometimes comes out looking like the pimps are being glorified. But this is what these pimps are like, this is how they con and make their money, its a 24/7 thing for them.
Are they always telling the truth? of course not, but the documentary is an accurate representation of what some pimps are like (albiet on a superficial level) and the philosophy they preach
