Comment: This mitt is adequate for shaking or quickly moving metal items around on the grill. Don't try to take a hot pan or skewer more than about ten feet, or it will burn your hand through the material.

Comment: I made the mistake of hanging my old Weber mits on the wall and going with some new silicone mits that my wife bought me as a present. I figured they would do a better job. Plus, for some jobs like taking chicken off the rotisserie, I would be able to wash them easier. After all, they were the latest and greatest.

Well I'm back to the old Weber mits again. I found that the silicone mits did not give me as positive of grip plus I found that although they seemed to provide more short-term protection against heat, the silicone mits themselves will get hot and then they retain the heat. In other words, if you were doing something that that would heat up the Weber mit all you had to do was back away and the mit itself would cool off almost immediately. That is not the case with the silicone mits, once they heat up, they stay hot and it keeps adding up until you can't stand to have your hands in them any more. That's why I came back to the Weber mits.

Comment: Do yourself a favor and buy a real heavy duty BBQ mitt. This one looks nice and fits well, but it starting burning one night and I threw it out.

Summary: Good price if it fits you, but that is iffy
Comment: There is a reason this mitt is relatively cheap. The shape of it is very strange. It does not fit my hands at all. I have fairly wide hands and this mitt feels very ackward. It is tight to get into and the thumb is too short. I would return it except the postage would cost me more than the mitt did. I would suggest you buy in person someplace where you can put your hands in it first.

Comment: I got this because I use the Weber kettle grill with the wide bowl and I need to be able to reach over the hot coals so, this mit does the trick. A well made product.
