Customer Rating: Summary: Works fine Comment: We needed a basic, inexpensive humidity gauge to monitor the humidity level in the room where our grand piano is located. This product has provided an accurate temp and humidity reading to date. Have not used the outdoor sensor so can't comment on its acccuracy.
Customer Rating: Summary: Avoid Comment: Digital Thermometers are only as good as their accuracy and this Taylor is not accurate.
I have two other digital thermometers & humidity gauges. I bought this Taylor for its indoor-outdoor feature. First, I ran a basic comparison test, putting the Taylor next to the Springfield Precisetemp and LaCrosse Technology (both are good, accurate gauges.) The Taylor was off 2-3 degrees on its temperature reading AND 8-9 points off on the humidity reading! True, most homeowners like myself can deal with a point or two off, but an 8-9 points error is a reason to AVOID. Not recommended. 1 star - stick with Springfield Precisetemp or LaCrosse Technology.
Customer Rating: Summary: Thermometer Comment: The instruement is neither precise nor accurate. In either the indoor or outdoor mode, the readings vary from one to four degrees high.
Customer Rating: Summary: 3 years & works just fine Comment: I've used one for 3,4 years now & its been just fine; here to buy afew more
Customer Rating: Summary: I don't think it's accurate . . . Comment: When I put the outdoor sensor out the window, the readings I was getting seemed extremely high compared with the indoor (we're in an un-air-conditioned room on the third floor of a brick building, yet the outdoor temp, in the shade, read about two degrees higher than the stifling indoor temp). So, just to experiment, I brought the sensor inside and placed it next to the base unit, left it a while, and compared temperatures again--there was still a two-degree discrepancy. This morning I came in to work and checked the temps, not having moved anything since the night before: now the outdoor sensor registered 1.5 degrees cooler than the base unit, still sitting next to it. The humidity reading seems unreasonably low, as well: a constant 36%. This thing is basically a toy.
