Premium yellowfin tuna packed in 100% virgin olive oil. It is preferred for its light color and mild flavor in the rich favorable olive oil.

Customer Rating: Summary: Genova Tuna Fish Comment: I had purchased 48 3 oz. cans of tuna, upon opening some of the tuna I had to throw out 20 cans, because the product was spoiled (dark meat and fowl smell). I purchased this product in the past with no problems.
Customer Rating: Summary: If You Love Super Salty Tuna Comment: I purchased a case of Genova Tonno Olive Oil tuna due to the reviews I have read and I am very sorry I did. I was looking for a tuna with no soy broth or MSG and this brand caught my eye. The cans are very small snack sized which is fine, but they have a strange pop-top lid that is inset deep so that you can use a can opener on it as well, I suppose in the event the pop top doesn't work. The pop tops are very hard to open but they have never failed.
When they say they contain salt they are not kidding. It is almost inedible unless you mix plenty of mayonaise or other ingredients which is something I wanted to avoid. The first can was so salty it was actually humorous, but after 3 cans of super salty tuna it was no longer funny. Perhaps they need to over-salt the tuna as a preservative or maybe it was a goof up at the packing plant. All I know is this is the saltiest tuna I have ever eaten. I would liken it to oversalted potato chips at the bottom of the bag you may throw out rather than eat.
When I made a tuna salad with eggs, mayo, and other ingredients it was actually okay, so if you are brave enough to order a case in hopes of it won't be salty, then go ahead. The solid pack texture of the tuna is excellent and it is so firm that you have to dig it out with a fork. You can't turn it over and plop it out in a bowl.
The beautiful label, olive oil, and lack of preservatives or additives made this tuna very appealing to me, but the salt is rediculous and you can't even taste the olive oil.
Customer Rating: Summary: Better Tuna Comment: GENOVA TONNO OLIVE OIL, 24 pack of 3 oz cans My husband tries to follow healthy eating practices. This tuna is a much more healthful option for tuna eaters. Although not recommended for a mayo based salad...it is delicious. We had been buying it at a local Italian grocery, but it closed and were at a loss until I searched Amazon and there it was. Happy, happy.
Customer Rating: Summary: Scrumptulescent tuna! Comment: This tuna is simply marvelous. Not unlike a romantic retreat in the Serengheti with a voluptuous lover, this tuna will tentalize you and make you reassess your past preconceptions of what "smashing!" really means. The delicate olive oil blends with the creamy, buttery, proteiny tuna to create a climax of gastronomic nutting that will make you want to smoke a cigarette next to the empty can as soon as you're done with the ingestion. The olive oil and the tuna complement each other unlike any pair of anything in the universe ever. Laurel and Hardy, Tom and Jerry, Peanut Butter and Jelly, Sonny and Cher all pale in comparison to olive oil and tuna. I'm pretty sure that when the yin and yang was created, it was originally pink and light green to symbolize this gastronomic union. I eat this for breakfast, with my cereal; for lunch, with other tuna, and for dinner, with steak.
But seriously. It's really good. Buy it.
Customer Rating: Summary: Makes most canned tuna taste pathetic in comparison Comment: This is excellent tuna. I like the 3-ounce cans for carrying in my snack bag or purse - makes a good meal in the car, just add some chips. (Be careful not to spill the oil on your clothes though.)
I like the fact that this tuna does not contain soy or other fillers.
