Spotlight customer reviews:
Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent cold weather gear Comment: My husband LOVES the Maxit line. He is a commercial fisherman and braves the elements through the winter, and the shirts and pants keep him warm, and they dry quickly as well. The price can't be beat either!!! Customer Rating: Summary: excellent product Comment: Years ago, when I rode a motorcycle, I used a Maxit product called the Headgator, made from the same material. I would wear it as a neckwarmer, below the helmet, but above the jacket. This fabric has amazing wind-blocking capability. I wore the neckwarmer every day riding to work in the winter and never had a single complaint. It easily stood up to 60-70mph in freezing weather.
Last winter I decided I was going to purchase some technical clothes that would allow me to continue mountain biking throughout the winter months. There are tons of cycling specific fabrics, most of which as overpriced and don't work as well as the maxit stuff. This has been a perfect base layer, worn under a jersey, or if it's super cold, covered with a shell. It blocks wind perfectly, and breathes wonderfully. It dries quickly as well.
I love this stuff. I currently own and use this shirt(i actually have the mock turtleneck), the pants, the beanie, and the old standby, the headgator. Can't beat it.
