Spotlight customer reviews: Customer Rating: Summary: Big disappoinment Comment: I ordered this product after reading the previous reviews - but I am really disappointed. It arrived today and I could hardly wait to try it. It is too thick, just a bunch of gooey beans - very little flavor, no hint of bacon or anything besides starchy tasting thick paste. Wish I could send it all back. Customer Rating: Summary: Hard to find, but worth it! Comment: This is one of those hometown favorites that we relocated New Yorkers yearn for, but it's terribly hard to find. We moved to Pennsylvania about twelve years ago and were disappointed that it was not available even one state away. When Wegmans opened a store ten miles away, we used to go there every few months to stock up on Grandma Brown's Bean Soup and some of our other New York State favorites. Unfortunately, even Wegmans doesn't carry it any longer, and it's even getting hard to find it when we go back to New York for holidays or Finger Lakes winery tours. I've come to the conclusion that it requires a lot less effort to make it myself than to try to track down the genuine article, so I've cracked the recipe, but I still buy every can I can get my hands on when I find it in a grocery store.
