Editorial Reviews:

In between drinking cans of Fosters beer, Australian soldiers tread on a few landmines, and generally experience the war in Vietnam.

Comment: The Odd Angry Shot [ NON-USA FORMAT, PAL, Reg.4 Import - Australia ] I'd heard about this movie for years, and only recently found a copy cheap enough for me to invest in. Can't imagine how this film received any attention at all because it depicts the situation in Viet Nam totally different than US infantrymen "enjoyed" for the most part. I commanded the 1st Battalion of the 4th Marines, 3dMarineDiv in 1965/1966. I'd had a bit of experience in such enterprises prior to that time, during WW II, Chinese Civil War, and the Korean War to be precise. I'd have thought it grand indeed should my Marines had the living conditions that were shown in the film. Hot chow in the field? Nevva Hoppen Maline! Showers? Only in the rear areas and most Marine infantrymen were lucky to spend a month or two out of a fourteen month tour in such delightful accommodations. So buy the film and look at it, but please remember that it has little to do with the experiences in the Nam of the average infantryman, Army or Marine. Darned if I can figure out how the film received such acclaim over the years. Wasn't there a film called "Oh What a Lovely War?"

Comment: Great movie. Shows the Aussie attitude and views of Vitnam war to a point. The film is not for children!! Nudity and language. Great movie to watch on this subject. Recommended.
