Best out there Comment: I'm a real fan of dried ginger, but I'd gotten pretty sick of the low quality, over priced variety they sell at places like Whole Paycheck. A lot of what is on the market is 'baking grade' ginger in squarish hard chunks. Not exactly what you want if you're looking for a snack.
This ginger on the other hand is both inexpensive, and amazingly soft and tasty. It comes in thin strips between 1/2 inch and 3 inches long, and about 1/8-1/4 inch thick. They are all very flavorful and tender, easily the best candied ginger I've had in a long, long time.
One small complaint is that they have quite a bit of sugar on them. You can brush it off if you like it with less sugar, so it's not a big deal at all, and not worth downgrading this excellent product from 5 stars to 4.

Customer Rating: Summary: Candied Ginger is Cruise Ship Quality Comment: We got hooked on candied ginger while taking cruises and I squirreled away as much as I could from our last cruise but when that ran out I went looking and found on Amazon.com (is there anything these guys don't sell) exactly what we THOUGHT might be a match in quality and flavor. Turns out this ginger is as good or better and as far as I know we got a good deal and will reorder forever. If you ever looked up the recipe (make that long involved process) for making your own candied ginger (with questionable results), you come away willing to pay twice what we paid for this product. Please don't tell the manufacturer!
