Editorial Reviews:

If you have a Bluetooth phone that supports stereo headsets, it's time to start moving with your music. These comfortable, simple-to-operate Bluetooth Stereo Headphones let you enjoy hours of hands-free, wire-free listening. And with your compatible phone you can quickly switch from listening to music to wirelessly answering calls on your headphones, so you'll never miss a beat.

With the HT820 headphones, you can do even more than listen to stereo music from your phone. You can stream music from your PC, home stereo, or MP3 player with a phone that supports Bluetooth 1.2, as well as the Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) and the Audio Video Remote Control Profile (AVRCP). The headphones provide a hands-free, wire-free connection up to 10 meters (30 feet) from a Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone or other Bluetooth device.

Weighing just 100 grams, and featuring a comfortable and ergonomic design, these headphones are designed for all day use. Intuitive controls, which include music buttons on the right earpiece, and call buttons on the left earpiece, make it easy to control your music and your calls. An embedded microphone handles voice communication, allowing you to use the HT820's just like a regular Bluetooth headset. The rechargeable internal batttery offers approximately 17 hours of talk time and approximately 500 hours of standby time. You also get approximately 12 hours of music listening time on a single charge. So get moving!

The headphones are covered by a one year warranty.

Summary: Amazing Sound Quality, without the wires!
Comment: This headset delivers amazing sound quality that would not be expected of a bluetooth connection. As mentioned before, you do need to have a phone that supports the stereo bluetooth profile, otherwise it won't sound good. I use it with my Samsung SCH-u900 and it is incredible: the bass is good, sometimes a little muddy but hardly noticeable, and the highs are crisp. I'm hearing songs that I've listened to countless times on a fairly decent system in a whole different way. When the volume is maxed out it becomes a little tinny, but there's none of the distortion you'd usually associate with a pair of headphones.

The controls located on the device are also effective and easy to use. It is possible to start your music playing, place a call, or do many other things without ever touching your phone.

The only downside to these headphones are that they are heavy and uncomfortable. All of the weight really presses down against your ears where the headband rests to keep the set steady. Over time it is possible to get used to, but for the first few times it's almost unbearable. The weight and close fitting band also causes the set to rub against your neck with the slightest movement, so when listening to quiet music it gets a little obnoxious.

So, if you can withstand some discomfort for a great sounding, super cheap bluetooth headset, I would definitely recommend this.

Summary: Good Bluetooth Headset
Comment: I purchased this unit primarily to take advantage of the MP3 player function in my new LG Shine Phone.

As some of the other raters have mentioned, the fit behind the ears is a bit snug, but it is not as painful as some have described. It sits well on the neck and does not catch on my collar or when I lie down in my hammock. The one aspect that I find challenging is knowing when the unit is fully turned off to avoid draining the battery.

It has very clear sound, in fact I hear much more to the recordings than I do playing them through the computer speakers.

Comment: Stereo sound is great...sound of your caller is great... YOUR voice to your caller...AWFUL... i don't know how they postioned the mic, but they need to re-design it (unless mine was defective). EVERYONE kept saying: "what...what...i can't hear you...what, etc" also, it was kind of tight on my ears, and actually started to kind of hurt after a little while...that may simply be that i have sensitive ears, i don't know, i always trust motorola products, but this one didn't work out for me. i had to return them.

Summary: awesome sound.....fits like a medieval ear-ripping vise
Comment: I agree with most that the sound quality and ease of use is great, in fact, excellent.

Why only two stars? They may be the most uncomfortable headphones I've ever used.

No, I do not have an extreme size melon. I have other headphones using the same "back of the head" support that I love.

I suspect the main cause is the weight. They feel fine for about 15 minutes, then it shifts to "head in a closing vise" mode, with the added bonus of feeling as if my ears are being slowly sheered off my head.

I keep bending the support band in hopes of finding a sweet spot...no luck yet. I guess my next approach will be padding...then a complete re-engineering of the support.

Having said that, maybe they are the perfect fit for someone else's head. That lucky person would probably give them five stars.

Summary: Feature Stars
Comment: For this product I have a unique yet simple rating system which is a star for features I found useful and minus a star for features either lacking or lacking in quality:

One star is for design (but be careful with these because its sleek design can lend itself to breakage of the earphones if handled carelessly).
One star is for voice quality (in and out [It's fantastic that voice comes in through both earphones in a phone call]).
One star is for functionality (long batter life and coming with a headphone jack so that it serves as a regular headphone set with your computer or mp3 -- Great!).

Minus one star for music sound quality (which isn't bad, just inferior to its cousin, the Motorola S9 S9 Active Bluetooth Headset).
Minus one star for some lack of clarity or simplicity in operation.

With a premium being on mobility and compact design of mobile devices the choice of such products come down to the users priorities -- do you put priority on your mobile device as a phone or a music player? That is to say, are you more concerned with the quality and ease of a phone conversation or do you prefer more rhythm in your commute and walk in between phone calls? This one is better for you if having more assurance of being heard and hearing clearly is most important.

Two great bluetooth head sets by Motorola for two specialized purposes -- I have both.
