Customer Rating: Summary: Luv This Stuff Comment: This is the best feeling plumper I have ever used. I love Philosophy products and this is one of their best. I purchased the pink and I wear it alone and over other lipstick to keep it a gloss. The tingle gives you a rush!! You won't be disappointed.
Customer Rating: Summary: If It Sounds Too Good To Be True...... Comment: .....then it usually is. This product simply does not work. It moisturizes your lips for a while (but you can't use it under your long-lasting lipsticks), but does not plump lips at all. Not one itty bit.
Save your money for a botox injection. . . I'm sorry I fell for the "big mouth" hype of this product. There ought to be a law against false advertising.
Customer Rating: Summary: Not as good as hoped Comment: I had purchased a kit I saw on TV a while back and have to say it was wonderful, can't remember the name of it unfortunately. This creates a tingle in the lips making them feel very soft but nothing to create the plump I was hoping for. I still use it daily and have for a year now but had to add some other lip gloss to the 1/2 empty tube to add color. Also found the tube leaked on my lab coat while in my pocket. :-(
Customer Rating: Summary: Not what I expected. Comment: This product is definitely not a good first time philosophy purchase. Good thing my sister uses many of the philosophy products or I would never consider another purchase. The description is clever and if you really want that "bee stung look" go for it. The nude shade was beautiful but within a minute of applying the gloss my lips started to feel warm and burny. I thought "Ok, how bad can it be...." After two minutes I couldn't tolerate the so called tingling and had to wash the gloss off. Before I did, I went to a mirror to take a look and my lips were red like I ate raspberries. Not a look desired by an adult female, unless I was really eating raspberries. Needless to say since I really liked the color of the gloss and the fact of how much I paid for it, I was disappionted. Hopefully the Birthday Cake body wash/shampoo and the facial cleanser will be more satisfying.
Customer Rating: Summary: Caution Comment: First of all, it goes on with a wand. I find lip gloss difficult to apply with a wand, but they keep making and selling them that way, so it must be me...
The color was too translucent and the gloss very oily, so I never put it on with my morning makeup but I tried it a couple of times in the evening and didn't think it did anything for my lips. Well, one morning when I thought I had some extra time, I put some on my lips after my shower and before my makeup (keeping it within my lip line since I didn't want oil around my mouth when I put on my mineral powder). I was spreading it around my lips with my finger and thought, why don't I put what's on my finger in those creases at the corner of my eyes -- maybe it will swell those lines away temporarily/permanently. So I did, and went about my business doing my morning chores. 20 minutes later, I go to apply my make up and find I have red-orange blotches around my eyes and my mouth looks like I'm a little kid that just messily ate an orange and cherry popsicle or something -- there is color all around my mouth outside of the lip line! I'm thinking, I don't remember a dye in this stuff -- it wouldn't come off, it was like a stain. Then I get it, I look at the box and it says "Caution: due to niacin content, do not use if you are being treated for a heart condition." The blotches on my face were not stains but a reaction to applying niacin directly to my skin (and probably why I get a slight headache every time I use it). I did my best to cover up the blotches and an hour later they had disappeared. It was kind of funny really.
I love Philosophy's Hope in a Jar, and intend to try a lot of their other products, but this one was ineffective at best for me.
