The Yaktrax Pro is new and been designed for the active winter person that needs increased durability while working, running or hiking. The Pro is made of a 100% natural rubber blend designed to give you increased durability and strength. The Pro comes with a removable performance strap to help keep you Yaktrax in place during use. The coils are stainless steel and are hand-wound to give you 360 degrees of traction on ice and snow. SMALL: Men's 5 to 8.5, Women's 6 to 10. MEDIUM: Men's 9 to 11, Women's 10.5 to 12.5. LARGE: Men's 11.5 to 13.5, Women's 13 to 15. X-LARGE: Men's 14+, Women's 15.5+. If the Yaktrax will be worn over heavy boots, add 1-2 sizes to your normal shoe size.

Customer Rating: Summary: Traction Good. How Long Will They Last? Comment: I bought the YakTrax grips a couple of months ago. I like them from the start, because I could notice a stark difference from where I had no tracktion on ice!
I use them mostly when I walk our dogs. They sometimes get excited at the sight of squirrels, and I want to avoid falling at all costs having an injured meniscus and having suffered from a pinched sciatic nerve in the past.
These are my caveats: If you have poor mobility YakTracks are not for you: It is hard to slip them on the shoe itself while its off your foot; you really need to wear the shoe and then slip them on. As other people have stated, the design seems subject to wear and tear, the basic structure of this item bein in rubber coiled by wires for traction. It doesn't take a scientist to know that the rubber will succumb to both temperature changes and to the rubbing of the coils under a person's weight.
But overall, at least for now, this is what I was looking for. And they hug the shoe, they are comfortable. I am happy.
Customer Rating: Summary: They do help Comment: Yes, these work for me in the snow and ice. I agree - the size recommendation was too small. I've been using them on my running shoes and notice that they "pull" the toe of the shoe up because they are so tight on the shoe. This makes the top of the shoe push down on my toes because the shoe is trying to collapse. I think the next size up would avoid the problem, but not sure if it would still be tight enough to be effective.
Customer Rating: Summary: Not for heavy duty hiking on mixed turrain Comment: I purchased Yaktrax Pro about 2 weeks ago and have hiked about 15 miles with them now. This morning I hiked on uneven surfaces that were not always covered with ice or snow, and the last metal coil on both heals opened exposing a sharp point; I didn't notice this until the hike was over, and by that time one of the rubber straps was broken as well. I expected the product to last much longer. I'm going to try "Get-A-Grip Ultra - Snow & Ice Traction Cleats" next.
Customer Rating: Summary: Yaktrax Pro Comment: The Yaktrax Pro "stabilicers" work very well. After slipping on black ice and braking my wrist, I was eager to find some way of bettering my odds of surviving the winter. With the Yaktrax attached to my boots, I feel much safer on ice and snow. They are well worth the money. My only disagreement with the advertising is that they aren't a real breeze to put on.

Customer Rating: Summary: Good, but could be better... Comment: The product works great once installed properly. We had intended to put these on my wife's snow boots, but the rubber part that stretches around the shoe/boot, was not tall enough to fit the boot. Instead we use them on a pair of hiking boots.
If you are looking for something to give your shoes more traction that are easy to remove, these should work great for you. If you are planning on using these for boots, you may want to try a different product.
