Comment: ChessCentral has put together a great value with this set. It's perfect for both club and tournament players. The carryall has plenty of room for the roll-up vinyl board and pieces. Extra Queens are provided (so you don't have to go borrowing one if you or your opponent promote to have an extra Queen on the board). I especially appreciate the blue board coloring (instead of the more usual green/brown) which makes the board distinctive from those of other players. The weighted plastic Staunton design pieces meet the size/style/color requirements for official USCF tournaments and are durable enough to last for many years with normal use. Overall it's a terrific package for players looking for a durable travel set.

Summary: The Chess peices are not heavy at all
Comment: The board and the bag itself are great, but my main problem came with the actual pieces themselves. They are not heavy at all. I play chess in my college's club and we hold all our club meetings outside in the main quad. I'm considering purchasing a heavy set of pieces soon, but in the meantime, I'll have to keep filling the pieces with glue to make them heavier, though the difference isn't that great.

Comment: When I ordered this board I had no idea how awesome it would be. After all it was such a reasonable price! The board is so durable. When I opened the small shipping box, I took out the board, and it had no creases. They packaged it with great care. The extra Queens were a bonus. I didn't think to request them. The Chess Central team is awesome to add this.

With this in mind I taught my children how to play chess on this product. The pieces are wonderful and feel nice in your hand. The board is easily cleaned (as my daughter spilled grape juice and it wiped right up). It stores away in the canvas tote which you can carry with you on vacation. I am really glad I purchased this product, great at any price!

Comment: This is it! The ultimate tournament chess set at a super low price. I have purchased several sets from other chess shops (and Amazon), but none have had the quality this set has (and all were much more expensive). The pieces are nicely weighted, the chess board is indestructible and the bag holds it all plus a clock easily. Thank you ChessCentral!
