The Pharos Bluetooth Dock allows the GPS receiver sold in the Microsoft Streets and Trips with GPS Locator 2007 package to be used as a wireless Bluetooth GPS receiver. Communicate with wireless Bluetooth connectivity to your laptop, Tablet or Pocket PC. With a range of up to 30 feet, the need for connector cables is completely eliminated, allowing you to place the GPS receiver anywhere in your vehicle. With a rechargeable and replaceable Li-Polymer battery, you'll be able to take long trips with each battery lasting up to 7 hours and 15 minutes fully charged. A DC charging adapter is included so that you'll be able to charge the Bluetooth dock while you're on the road. The blue LED indicator will let you know if your dock is powered on or off.

Customer Rating: Summary: Great option worth having! Comment: I bought this to use with my PDA and laptob. It works great, easy to setup, long battery life. Has a blue connect light, flashes to show it is on, turns soild when linked. Recharges quickly, small, great design, no wires to fight with. Great product, highly recommend. Would buy it again for any price, well worth investment. Can't think of a way to make it any better, no complaints.
Customer Rating: Summary: Does the job Comment: Works great for me, I bought it to pair it up with a free GPS application on a Windows Mobile device for Geocaching. I also use it to eliminate the wires when I'm traveling with my fiance using the laptop and Microsoft Streets and Trips 2007. Works well in both cases.
Customer Rating: Summary: Surprisingly great! Comment: I must admit that I was skeptical from the very beginning but I decided to try this anyway. I'm using it with MS Live Search (which is free) and my T-Mobile Wing. After pairing with your phone, type in a location using Live Search, then click on route/maps/menu and finally "Center on GPS". It even works inside my house. The only reason why I didn't give this a perfect rating was because it doesn't come with a wall charger and you have to download Pharos' Ostia software ($120) if you want voice "turn by turn" directions. For $80 dollars this is definitely worth it.
Customer Rating: Summary: Does not work as advertised Comment: Attempted to use this with the Microsoft branded Pharos GPS-500. The bluetooth stack on my Lenovo T61p sees the device and takes the passcode, but the sled never binds with the bluetooth stack. As a troubleshooting step I tried to bind the unit to my Windows Mobile 6.0 phone and the same results. The BT stack sees it but the device won't pair with the phone.
I called Pharos and thier support agents will only tell you its a problem with Vista and Microsoft knows about it, they will then tell you to download a piece of nagware to test. Using this software confirms what I already know, and that is that the sled won't pair and Pharos response is that it can't be thier problem, it has to be a Vista/Microsoft problem. This is hardly possible as I use this machine and its bluetooth stack all the time to connect to mice and headphones, so I had no recourse but to return the unit.
Customer Rating: Summary: A must have... Comment: If you have the GPS-500 and a bluetooth PDA or using Microsoft Streets and Trips on your laptop, the Pharos Bluetooth Dock is a must have produce. No more wires, easy to set up and use. I've used it in the car, on a boat, out on hikes. I do geocaching with it. it is a great product!
