Customer Rating: Summary: Works well till it dies Comment: The steam mop concept works great, way better than I thought. Cleans with out chemicals or elbow grease. Just slide it over a freshly swept hard surface. It is amazing what the pads pick up, and the pads on this unit are inexpensive and last. The Lysol sprayer is worthless. It is not needed to clean, but is for those people who equate a smell with clean. The Lysol has a nice lemon clean smell, but reaching down, removing the cover, and pressing a button to squirt a tiny bit of Lysol onto the pad is kind of stupid.
The rest of the machine is kind of cheaply made, especially the handle. At first I imagined having to scrub with this thing like a swifter or a mop, but you do not need to scrub with it, just slide it over the surface, so the handle ends up not being the weakest link. At about 8 months old the steamer gave out. Now when I fill it, and turn it on, as soon as it starts to steam, it dumps the entire content of water onto the floor. I took it apart to see if I could fix it, and found that everything inside is made of plastic. No wonder it broke. Other steam mops (like the Monster I replaced this with) have a stainless steel tank, which is more robust. Go for a steam mop, but go for one with a bigger and more robust tank. The monster is a good choice, it has a large stainless steel tank, two steam sprayers, and a high low switch. The Conair is only good as a proof of the steam mop concept, not as a long range mop. You get what you pay for.
Pros: Inexpensive, steam works, pads last long and are simple and inexpensive.
Cons: Small water tank, cheaply made and will not last
Customer Rating: Summary: So So Comment: I bought this in hopes that it would help get my floor really clean. I have 5 children and am tired of crappy mops and things that just don't clean. Over all I like this product. My only complaint would be having to wait for it to "heat up" as well as how sticky the lysol made my floor. I hope I can use Mr Clean in the chamber, then all will be well.
Customer Rating: Summary: Worth it for the price. Comment: I just started using this mop, but I haven't been using it with the lysol. I have hardwood floors so I just spray the floor with Orange Glo hardwood cleaner first. I can't really tell how effective it is because I don't have any really sticky or set-in messes, but for what I do have it seems to do a great job. I prefer it to a swiffer because it's wet throughout the mopping process, not just at the beginning like a swiffer wet pad.
The only thing I would wish to be different is for it to have a retractable cord.
I'm happy. :)
Customer Rating: Summary: Good Product Comment: I have used this steam mop twice and I agree with some of the other reviews about the water level line. It is a little difficult to see because of the blue color of the tank, so what I have done is measured with a measuring cup. It takes just about 3/4 cup of water. The floor cloths are just ok and I received 2 with my mop. I know you can purchase more, but I will make my own. It heats up quickly and steams nicely. I had no problems with it leaving puddles of water on my floors. I can do my kitchen, laundry room and bathroom floors on 2 tanks of water. I am happy with this purchase.
Customer Rating: Summary: CONAIR CLEANING MOP Comment: I really like the idea of a steam mop as my kitchen and den run together and has a lost of items to move as I clean. When using a regular mop and water, the water is cold by the time I get half way through.
There are several things I don't like about the Lysol. It doesn't come on every time when I turn it on, I have to turn it off unplug it and plug it back in befoe it starts heating. Also, the tanks for water and lysol aren't clear so you can't tell how much you have left in it during cleaning.
Since I had never used a steam mob before, I had looked around and priced them and didn't want to spend $80.00 on an item I didn't know would work or not so I bought the Lysol. I wish now that I had spent the extra $40.00 on the other mop as I am sure it would have heated up every time and I'm it had a clear container to tell how much water was left.
Thank you.
