Mittens are waterproof, durable everyday gloves with the added benefit of having battery heat when it gets extra cold. The new design gloves have snow cuffs to seal in the warmth while keeping the cold out. On those extra cold days or to take the chill off, just turn on the heat by inserting in a "D? size alkaline battery(NotĀ Included)Ā which will last 4-6 hours if used continuously, longer if used intermittently. Safe, comfortable, perfect for all cold weather activities. These products are not designed to get extremely hot! They are designed to keep the hand warm thus making it more comfortable to be out in cold weather. The heating unit in the palm area is completely safe and warms the entire hand and fingers.

IMPORTANT: Place you hands on a flat surface and measure the circumferance of you knuckles excluding the thumb. Then use the product table toorder the correct size. See picture

Comment: Well...I bought these gloves thinking they'd help me when I went skiing...they didn't do a darned thing...they kept the palms of the hands lukewarm but my fingers still froze. I guess it goes to show you can't expect quality out of something that costs so little.

Comment: When I purchased a pair of these gloves a couple of years ago, I had high hopes. My hands become cold easily, and I was looking forward to wearing gloves that would actively help in warming them.

I will admit that these gloves are respectable as normal, unheated gloves. They are fairly well insulated and provide a moderate degree of dexterity.

However, the heating element is ineffective. Inserting batteries into the gloves provided little (if any) increase in warmth. My fingers remained cold.

In addition, I have recently discovered that the thin wire connecting the heating element to the battery in one of the gloves has become disconnected. These gloves have not been subjected to any harsh abuse, so it is disappointing to find that the wire had been disconnected so easily.

If you are looking for a pair of heated gloves that will actually make a difference and keep your hands (including your fingers)warm, look elsewhere.

Summary: WARM gloves-BULKY Battery
Comment: Gloves are toasty...perform as expected, and are a sweet luxury after a long, cold day on the slopes; HOWEVER, the D-SIZED batteries (1 per glove) are considerably more bulky than what I expected. Most reasonable people would anticipate having to use 3 or 4 AA batteries...but no, just one, bit fat chicken-roastin' D-sized battery. Good product, but consider whether wearing the big ol' D's around your wrist all day will get on your nerves, or whether you'll barely notice, being bundled-up and bulkified anyway. May also interfere with cinching up your jacket sleeves when it's really nippy out.
