It was the cruelest of times. Under Herod's torturous reign, families struggled to survive and yet, in the midst of utter turmoil, a young woman's faith is put to the test. Join Mary (Keisha Castle-Hughes) and Joseph (Oscar Isaac) on an incredible journey of hope and discovery. Epic in its scope, yet intimate in it's portrayal of this historical family, this "wonderful film" (Bill Zwecker, Chicago Sun Times) is "a family feature that will be cherished for years to come!" (Greg Russell, WMYD-TV, Detroit).

Customer Rating: Summary: The BEST Bible based movie Comment: So often I find Bible based movies have their heart in the right place, but are either not very well acted, or are over-acted. This is the exception. The casting was terrific, from Mary and Joseph and her family, down to King Herod and the Magi. (In a lifetime of watching and enjoying movies, this is the first time I've written down the names of the casting personnel, hoping to write them and compliment them.) It's rare to see a movie that gives you "goose bumps" one minute and has your eyes filling up the next. A subdued but stirring soundtrack is the icing on the cake. Very highly recommended.
Customer Rating: Summary: The life of Mary & Joseph brought to light. Comment: This very inspiring movie finally gives a nice backround story to the life that Mary and Joseph had before the birth of Jesus. Through hardtimes and struggles to the journey to Bethlehem where Jesus will be born, bonds will be made and danger will be under foot. A movie for all to see and be inspired by. A much needed backround story is also giving to the Wise Men as well as the mother and father of John the Baptist. The music soars with love and inspiration. Don't miss out on this breathtaking cinematic wonder.
Customer Rating: Summary: Movie:The Nativity Story Comment: A wonderful way to share what we're really celebrating on Christmas.
Historical fiction that seems VERY believable.
Customer Rating: Summary: Good story Comment: Helps to understand how Joseph and Mary would have suffered during those days. A very casual story which is very good.
Customer Rating: Summary: A faithfull blessing... Comment: Although this movie is a few years old, I just watched it with my wife who is expecting our second daughter, Pai( we got the name from the Whale Rider) in December. I was amazed once again by the presence of Keisha Castle Hughes. She is a beautiful, talented actress that I hope to see in many more movies. The cast was very well done...this is a movie that can restore one's faith and lead you to a place you've been hiding from. This is a beautiful story of the journey and tribulations of Mary and Joseph. Oscar Isaac is very believable as Joseph and really sells the faithful husband to a tee. The movie starts with a sad telling of the "Killing of the Innocents" ordered by the fearful King Herod, who considers himself the "king of the Jews"...and goes thru the Journey of the 3 wise men, Gaspar, Melcior, and Balthasar following the "Star of Bethlaham" to Mary and Joseph's journey to the eventual birth of our lord and savior, the baby Jesus. This is a story of faith, belief & trust. It is said in the movie to Mary that everyone has a gift...This is the story of Mary, Joseph and the greatest gift of all...the birth of Jesus, our Christ.
