I need to find a good basic black dress which can run through seasons, be dressed up or down, and this one *should* have worked beautifully. Unfortunately, the funky popup neckline means this dress stays in my closet a LOT more than it would if it were successfully cut. I have tried to figure out a way to alter the shoulders, but it would be an extremely difficult and all-too-visible job. The jersey itself is somewhat cheap (typical for Newport News) and is not a good, deep black, but that would have been forgiveable if the cut weren't so difficult to work around. I am very happy with this purchase. Customer Rating: Summary: Poor fit... Comment: Looks great on the model... in person, I'm constantly having to adjust the neckline... it doesn't sit on the shoulders right, but keeps slouching, making for a sloppy look and awkward, high maintenance feel. It's ok with a sweater on to conceal the bad cut of the neckline.
