Customer Rating: Summary: Streets and trips review Comment: This product takes up way too much room on my hard drive. I am thinking of uninstalling it and sending it back and rely on the old mapquest. This does make it handy however for routing a tour since I am a real estate agent, but not worth buying a new computer over.
Customer Rating: Summary: good, but not perfect Comment: I purchased this edition to upgrade from the 2006 edition. As is typical, "up-to-date" means the data is about two years old. My subdivision, created in the summer of 2006, is not indicated in any way. Several new portions of interstate 40 near Greensboro were opened last year - under construction for four years - and are not included, while a segment of I-73 that has not even been started is shown as complete.
I don't use GPS, so I can't comment on it. The thre D maps are interesting and can be useful.
Customer Rating: Summary: Streets and Trips #1 for sales travel Comment: For sales people who cover a territory, there is no better product than Microsoft® Streets and Trips. You can import thousands of prospects, assign them unique pushpins that identify their 'sales value' to you, search for best prospects and plan sales calls that group them together. Then you plug in a GPS receiver, and the laptop you have to carry with you anyway guides you with GPS turn by turn spoken directions. You keep your eyes on the road, instead of having to glance down to read hand written directions - or a printout map. Streets and Trips helps reduce the cost of sales by ensuring reps know about all the opportunities in the area - and because they have great planning tools that let the rep ask questions like: "show me how many prospects are within `X' driving minutes of my current location" and more - they can travel more efficiently and see more prospects in the same trip - saving gas and maybe even a return airfare. Reps spend more time in front of the prospect selling instead of behind the windshield driving. [...]
Customer Rating: Summary: Streets & Trips 2008 Comment: Streets & Trips 2008 WIN32 Mini Box Na Only I received the items (3ea) in great time and they were exactly what I ordered. Great job, great product.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great tool Comment: I too have been using S&T for several years. I upgraded from 2005 because I got 2008 w/ GPS for as a gift. Not a lot of changes from 2005 with the exception of activation requirement which doesn't bother me and the new (to me) map style for night viewing.
It was loaded on my XP laptop and now on my new Vista tablet PC. Had a little trouble installing it because the fancy software for walking the user through the installation wouldn't fun on the Vista Table OS. Circumvented it by viewing DVD in 'my computer' and running the installation software directly.
Had no problems after that with installation or activation but I don't a bunch of software running on my laptop that might cause conflicts.
The coordinates on the location sensor are inaccurate by about 125 yards but once the GPS is connected it is dead on.
The GPS is great for getting unlost. I took a wrong turn in Kansas City and went way of my intended route. Fired up the laptop and the GPS and found my location and navigated back to my route. It was much more helpful than my Garmin V for seeing a more detailed and larger map.
I love S&T.
