Summary: Air purifier that really works
Comment: Living in Georgia with all the pollen I developed allergies. I would sit in my den watching TV and find myself getting stuffed up and congested. That all stopped (with no medications) when I got the T300. I have bought several air purifiers but only the Alen T300 has made a noticeable and lasting difference in the air quality in my home. I own 2 and sleep with one in my bedroom. I sleep much better and can actually breath freely all night. I have had no problems with either unit and highly recommend the Alen products to anyone looking for a top rated trouble free unit.

Summary: A good quiet filter
Comment: I have been using the T300 for a few weeks now. It is a very nice Air Purifier. Its is a little loud on its highest setting but still not as loud as other Purifiers I have used. It has a lot of nice features like UAV light which can be turned off and on. It also has an ionizer which helps a lot if you have animals. The air smells fresher after only a few hours.
However I brought this unit mainly for dust removal. My room has a lot of dust, more than the average room and this unit while does filter a lot of the air, still can not make a dent in the amount of dust in my room. My room is about 170 square feet and used to be an attic. I don't think I can really blame the filter. I have watched it when the light hits my room just right, and I can see it takes in tons of dust. After a week I could not longer see any black parts on the pre-filter it was completely covered with layers of dust. While this filter might not be the best one for my room I will continue to use it seeing as I can't afford the more expensive units.

Summary: Good product. So-so service.
Comment: This is a good air filter. I have pretty bad allergies, and when we first moved into this house it had brand new carpet and I would be miserable 5 minutes after walking in the door. I moved my T300 in from my previous apartment, and about a day later came back and had no allergy symptoms whatsoever.
PROS: -Cleans extremely well.
-Filters last longer than 6 months.
-Quiet on lower settings
CONS: -Have noticed a problem with the back cover. It takes some work to get the unit to recognize that the back cover is installed. Customer service told me I could adjust the sensor for it but haven't tried yet.
-Lamps are ridiculously expensive. Don't last. Don't buy them for sixty bucks! Get the Phillips PL5/UV at bulbman(dot)com for thirteen bucks! Its better and is the exact bulb specs for the T300...
-Noisy on "medium" and "high"

Summary: Customer service not worth the price
Comment: I purchased 2 T300 units. About 6 months after I purchased the units the UV lamps went out. Their customer service was horrible when I was trying to get the UV lamps replaced under warrenty. The units are ok. I couldn't tell a real difference in the air quality. I don't know if they are really worth the price considering the horrible customer service experience.

Summary: Can't live without it
Comment: After living constantly with waking up to allergy symptoms and all kinds of medicines to address the symptoms, I finally saw an info-commercial for air purifiers and the light bulb went off. I did the research and found that the Alen and IQAir products were the best and cleaned over 95% of contaminants in the air where the info-commercial product only cleaned about 35% of the contaminants. The Alen was best price for feature for my budget with a lifetime warranty so I purchased it. Now my son and I wake up mostly free of any allergy symptoms and the feeling is wonderful!
