The Pur like no other water filter pitcher. The Pur Multi-Cup Pitchers provide clean, great-tasting water conveniently waiting and chilled in your refrigerator. They're available in a variety of sizes for your drinking pleasure.

Customer Rating: Summary: Gets the job done! Comment: I have now used both a faucet mount PUR filter and the PUR pitcher. I guess I have to say that I like them both. The only reason I got the pitcher was because I was sick of the faucet mount getting in my way. But both work equally well. I like the pitcher because it goes in the 'fridge so you have COLD water all the time. With the faucet mount, even though you run cold water through it, it isn't always as cold as from the 'fridge. But then, you don't have to wait for filtered water when you get it through the faucet mount. With the pitcher, you have to wait a little bit for the water to flow through the filter into the pitcher. Also, replacing the PUR pitcher filter is a little easier and a bit less messy than with the faucet mount. But like I said, I like them both, for different reasons.
Customer Rating: Summary: Good-tasting water, a little tricky to refill Comment: I've had this pitcher for a few months now. We have okay tap water here, but water from the Pur pitcher tastes better, and I also like very much that I'm not wasting plastic bottles. I've tried a Brita dispenser before, as well as a Pur faucet-mounted filter, and I prefer this pitcher. The Pur water tastes better to me than the Brita water, and the faucet-mounted filter was always in the way.
I agree with others that the pitcher is difficult to fill and isn't the best design, but I tend to work at things until I find a trick to it. Here's how I fill mine (I'm right-handed):
1. I place my left hand on top of the pitcher, fingers toward the handle.
2. I place my left index finger on one side of the tail of the lid and my left thumb on the other side.
3. I pinch my finger and thumb together on the tail of the lid and raise it a bit.
4. Then, holding the handle with my right hand as if pouring, I press the pad of my right thumb firmly against the raised edge of the tail. I continue pressing forward and up with my thumb, and the lid comes off.
Obviously, it's also tricky to describe in words, but once you do it, you'll get it. Hope it works for you.
Overall, I'm happy with the pitcher. I've thought about getting the dispenser with the spigot, but the pitcher is easy to take in and out of the fridge. The lifespan of the filters seems short (or the indicator is dishonest), but it hasn't been much of a problem.
Customer Rating: Summary: Difficult to re-fill Comment: I love PUR filters, the water quality is great - that being said, unfortunately its the design of this pitcher that disappoints.
I bought this pitcher with the intention of taking it to work so we could have cool filtered water on demand, yet I sent it back within in a day of receiving it because of the clumsy and difficult way to re-fill! You have to take the whole top off, there is no flap or easy fill technique, and after trying it a couple of times I realized that no-one in the office was going to take the time to pry the lid apart from the filter chamber (which is really quite difficult) and actually fill it up again!
Customer Rating: Summary: It's very very good. I love Pur Comment: I am delighted(enchanted) with this product, it is necessary to buy it, the drip goes away with a tape of teflon.
Customer Rating: Summary: Award-winning atrocious design and the lid from hell Comment: As other reviewers have noted, removing the lid in order to re-fill the pitcher is difficult. To be more accurate, difficult is an understatement. The lid fits on very tightly, and there's no way to easily remove it or pry it open. On the back, you can try and push the lid up and with enough brute force it may come off. But thanks to sharp plastic corners, you're likely to rip a gash in your thumb as I did during the first week. The design is just atrocious.
How can a company that sells water pitchers not design one that's at least somewhat easy to open and refill? Sure, coming up with the cheapest design and manufacturing is profitable, but don't the real profits come from selling more cartridges? This might be an example of where offshoring design isn't a very good idea. Needless to say, my days with Pur are numbered.
