Customer Rating: Summary: Totally Awesome!! Comment: I got this game a month ago, and I can't stop playing. The only days I've missed are the days I've been out of town, and I'd seriously consider packing it up and taking it with me the next time.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great Alternative to Weight Loss Vendors and Bariatic Surgery! Comment: This is a fantastic game for people who need to lose weight. Wii Fit does work. I've lost 18 pounds in 9 weeks, a good pace. I try to do the body test daily and the workouts at least three to four times a week.
The use of the WiiFit program's feedback and exercises, coupled with a slight change in the way I eat, are the reasons for my weight loss. The WiiFit graphs progress, re: weight loss and BMI. A person could do the same with a scale, a calculator and a piece of paper, However, for those that haven't tried WiiFit, the game takes it a step further. It also incorporates balance and fun into the measurement.
Keep in mind that just using the WiiFit body testing feature, no matter how often, will not cause a person to lose weight. Instead, it should be seen as a weight loss counselor, cheering me on when I'm doing well and encouraging me to keep going when I'm not.
I've tried every diet out there and I've considered the extreme of bariatric surgery. As a last ditch, I decided to give the WiiFit a try. It is much cheaper and healthy than surgery. (Also compare it to the cost of weekly meetings and the cost of the food offered by weight loss vendors.) I am surprised at how effective WiiFit is with my weight loss, the increase in my health and even my state of mind. (I'm also bipolar and suffer from depression. WiiFit is helping...to the point where my doctor will need to change my meds.)
I'm a person who has difficulty with the restrictions of a formal weight loss diet. So, this time, I just watch how much I eat, watch the calories, simple carbo's and cut down on fat. I eat protein, fruit, vegetables, with some fat and a small amount of starch. (I'm not into dairy products so I take calcium supplements.) I try to eat complex carbos. I try to cover all of the necessary food groups. Also, when I have a craving for something, I have a little bit, such as two bites of cake rather than a whole piece. I eat carefully during the day and then at what my family eats for supper. Another factor, I snack all day.
I'm not really "dieting", as I've learned that a formal diet is not sustainable. Instead, I'm trying to change my eating habits. (By the way, after 9 weeks using this change in the way I eat has caused me to lose the need to consume simple carbos, processed sugar.)
The Wii Fit keeps me on the straight and narrow. Of course, any machine, diet, exercise, etc., is effective only if it is used. (By the way, many studies are now showing that exercise alone cannot cause weight loss...one needs to combine a change in food intake with exercise.) Wii Fit is fantastic!
One of the tricks? The WiiFit must be used ona regular basis. I've heard that it takes most people about two to three weeks to make a behavior a habit. I made a conscious effort to keep going. It is now a habit.
I keep encouraged by looking at my overall progress...going back to the WiiFit graphs from when I first started WiiFit to the present. I am making progress! I'm also now feeling it in the way my clothes fit. Yea!
Try the WiiFit before going to any extremes such as bariatric surgery or going to a weight loss vendor. Though I've only used it for 9 weeks, I'm not getting tired of it as I would with just a scale and a diet plan. I believe that most people will find it as an incredible way to lose weight.
Customer Rating: Summary: Wii Fit Comment: I absolutely love this game. It gives me a chance to work out inside at anytime that I want to. I have small children so this is great to use because its so kid friendly. Its compact and I can slide it under my couch if I need it out of the way, It gives me a great workout with out stress.
Customer Rating: Summary: A step in the right direction! Comment: First of all, the game is not a replacement for all your exercise needs. It's a supplement/motivator. Secondly, it's not magic--it's exercise and it's not always enjoyable. Finally, and most importantly, it can really help you take a step in the right direction as you seek to live a healthier life!
Some people (like me) need a little bit of competition in pretty much anything they do. This game satisfies that need.
I also enjoy charting my progress. It's nice, and it helps keep me going as I work toward my goal.
The mini games will never win any gaming awards, but such a critique would be missing the point. And some of the games are actually pretty fun. I used to play soccer so I get a kick out of the "header" game.
This game is also a step in the right direction for Nintendo as it relates to the strength of the presently available libriary of software for the Wii. (Which unfortunately remains weak!)
Well worth the ivestment in the game, and certainly in yourself as well!

Customer Rating: Summary: Great fun, but it has a few negatives Comment: After having the Wii Fit for over a month...would I stand in line for an hour on Sunday morning to get it again?? Yes. Could it use some improvements?? Yes.
Overall, it is a lot of fun and it works amazingly well. It is a game, not meant to replace a workout at the gym. Having said that, it is a great way to work in some fun exercise without it seeming like exercise.
I'm not going to give a detailed report - I'd just like to point out what I see as a big flaw. As I said, I would buy the game again. What would make me rate it a 5 star?? Getting rid of the beginning screen where the Wii Fit does it measurements and progress. My son is a big kid built like a linebacker, but far from a candidate for "The Biggest Loser". Each time he signs in he is informed "that's obese". I have to reinforce to him that he's not obese and to ignore the game...we are just playing for fun. Once we get past that, it is a lot of fun. The kids like to try to beat my high score in the aerobics games & they are getting pretty good! They are great at the balance games and find it extremely satisfying that they can beat me.
My point...this is supposed to be a fun game. Why not make the negative comments in a file where you can look for them if you'd like.
One more note. I haven't found a need for any of the accessories. I already have an exercise mat and there's no need to buy the Wii one. We wear socks when playing, so no need for the silicone cover. Battery life after 1 month and lots of play time hasn't been an issue.
