Customer Rating: Summary: Waste of money Comment: I agree with the other negative reviews about this product. It lasted me less than one week. Almost immediately the handle came unattached, and the metal bent like a pretzel. Very cheaply made. Don't waste your money. I'm now buying a heavy duty can crusher. Whomever is giving this a lifetime warranty must have a warped sense of humor.
Customer Rating: Summary: worst piece of crap ever made! Comment: I can't believe how chintzy this thing is! The side arms are weaker than the aluminum they are supposed to crush! After five soda cans or so the entire apparatus was so warped it became impossible to use. This should not be on the market. Great concept but shoddily made. The center handgrip is not permanently attached to the side arms either, keeps coming loose. Total waste of money. Better to stomp the cans and crush them with your shoes! Takes less effort also!
Customer Rating: Summary: Worst purchase on Amazon yet, DO NOT BUY! Comment: It's a can launcher not a can crusher. It launches cans 1/2 way across my garage. The ones it has crushed I have to hold them in with my hand - at risk of injury. I've only had it a week and will be throwing it away! I'd rate it a zero stars if I could!
Customer Rating: Summary: Works fairly well, but rivets are getting loose... Comment: When we first got this can crusher about five years ago it worked great and we were very happy. We did find that it works best if you crimp the can a little before you set it in to make crushing easier.
Over time however the rivets holding the base that you set the can on have gotten loose and the base now pitches downward a bit. The result of this is that the can often tries to slip out or occasionally is even "shot" out of the crusher. I beaned a window salesman once this way. Oops!
The rivets on the arm are also getting loose. Still, it has lasted about five years now and may continue to serve many more years.
The idea suggested my Mary Lynn sounds brilliant! I can't wait to try it out. It will almost certainly solve our projectile can problems.

Update: July 24, 2008
The rivets holding the handle have broken off, so it is challenging to crush any cans now between holding the handle together and trying to keep the can from firing out from between the jaws of the can crusher. At least it is never boring. I would downgrade the product to two stars but the rating system does not seem to allow this change.
Our household will be trying a different can crusher system this month.
Customer Rating: Summary: Not worth the money Comment: I bought 3 of these, all 3 of these have failed at the joints, also the pull arms are weak and bend when used over time. Plan on replacing them every 3-4 months.
