In Morning Glory, Will Parker (Christopher Reeve) arrives in the small town of Whitney, after spending five years in Huntsville Prison for killing someone in La Grange, Texas. Through an ad in the local paper, Will discovers that Emily (Deborah Raffin), a recently widowed mother of two small boys, is actively looking for a husband and father. Star-crossed loners, Will and Emily decide to make a go of their collective plight and Will moves into the barn on her farm. When a local woman is found murdered, Will is set up to take the fall. Excellent performances by Reeve and Raffin, and standout supporting roles filled by Nina Foch and Lloyd Bochner take this tale of love and redemption up a notch.

Comment: A little known good movie to add to any collection. One that can be watch a few times a year and never get old. You feel for each character and their individual emotions and it sends you on a roller coaster of sadness, hardship, gossip, and true love that grows throughout the movie.

Comment: The movie was good. However, it was based on one of my favorite books of all time, Morning Glory by Lavyrle Spencer and the plot was changed very considerably! I can't judge the movie on its own merits due to that fact.

Comment: I enjoyed the movie though it was a typical ex-con gets framed story. The acting is well done and it was nice to see Christopher Reeve walking and healthy. Takes place when times were hard and people did what they could to survive. Ends well.

Summary: Great performances from both Christopher Reeve and Deborah Raffin
Comment: A surprising find, one of those rare films that most have never heard of, yet packs the wallop of the best of love stories or Oscar favorites. Deborah Raffin is enchanting, and Reeve was at his physical peak (one of his first films in his post "Superman" era). The film feels a bit like a cross of "Somewhere in Time" and "Old Yeller" as bizarre as that combination might sound! Enjoy!
