Summary: AWESOME
Comment: Nothing to add really to all the glowing reviews here. I first heard them on a St Patricks Day special on TV and immediately bought the CD. The harmonies have the rich layers of the old Crosby Stills and Nash days but done in the Irish style that is foot-stomping, mournful, reflective, spiritual and ultimately triumphant. Just an incredible CD, you won't be disappointed.

Summary: Worth every penny
Comment: I've owned this dvd for about 2 weeks now, and have watched it several times already. These guys have wonderful voices and energy, and I am nowhere close to being tired of their music. As a person who usually finds 1 or 2 songs that they dislike from a cd or dvd, I love every single one of their songs, and the band is awesome. If you like Irish folk music, you will definitely love this. Also, unlike Celtic Woman and Celtic Thunder, the set is not over-the-top and hasn't been overproduced. I highly recommend this dvd!

Summary: Cried When I played This
Comment: Granted, three of my grandparents were Irish, one from county Kilkenny, but still it is embarrassing for a grown man to be blubbering like this. I was not a big fan of Celtic Women, but The High Kings touch something deep down in my Irish soul. First I saw them on PBS, then I bought the CD, and lastly I purchased the DVD. I am glad I did because there are songs and drum routines on the DVD that are not on the CD, and the appreciative Dublin audience adds tons of ambience to the proceedings. The High Kings are fantastic and the band that plays with them equally so.
They are playing in Sacramento, where I live, on Oct. 16th '08 I believe, and I only hope I can get tickets to that event. If you like Irish music, and particularly Irish folk music in the style of the Clancy brothers, or American folk music in the style of The Kingston Trio, you will love this DVD.
