Features
Wine gums were the favourite sweets of Roald Dahl, author of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. He kept a jar of the sweets next to his bed so he could savour them each night before he went to sleep. Wine gums contain no wine. The name comes from the lingering subtle fruit flavours that make it similar to the experience of savouring a fine wine. What really suprised me is how much I liked the red ones. Im not a fan of red candies but these werent too cherry or strawberry and had a nice sort of sizzly flavor to them. The only flavor I didnt like was the green one, which tasted just like cool lime floor cleaner. Rolls are round only with no shapes of Kidney, crown, diamond, circle and rectangle shapes with the wine messages on the sweets for Port, sherry, champagne, burgundy and claret. Maynards Wine Gums are almost totally distributed in the UK. Introduced in 1896 winegums have become a staple part of the UK
In the world of gummies, wine gums have their own special place. The flavors are unlike other candy. The texture is great. Everything about them is great. This is one of those snacks that for no reason at all I'll just crave wine gums. One important point that should be made is that the black ones are not licorice but in fact berry flavored. This has got to be one of my regular favorites.
Dont be fooled by the name. Wine gums are not chewing gum, but more of a chewy gummi candy. And they dont contain any wine! They come in larger
bags and smaller rolls that you can pick up from the candy aisle and take on the road for a refreshing fruity taste. These candies may not suit those who
dont like wineor parents who dont want their kids to develop a liking for alcohol. They come in flavors like port, sherry, burgundy, champagne and
claret, as well as different shapes including kidney-shaped, crown, and rectangle. Invented by Charles Maynard in 1909, these chews have a thicker
consistency than other gummies, which lets the flavor lastlike a fine wine. The flavor quotient on these candies is outstandingbright and refreshing
all the way down.
