Customer Rating: Summary: Ordered for Ps2 but got XBox 360. Bought mine at Walmart - Awesome! Comment: You gotta have two guitars though. Multiplayer setup is awesome with my wife able to play on easy and i can play on hard against each other unlike the first guitar hero. This is the first time Amazon let me down though and sent me the wrong thing.
Customer Rating: Summary: Aerosmith flavored Guitar Hero that doesn't offer much Comment: Since Activision and Neversoft took control of the Guitar Hero franchise, we've been getting a steady stream of sequels and spin-off's, with Guitar Hero: Aerosmith being the latest game in the series. Featuring a pretty good collection of songs spanning Aerosmith's long career, you'll find that besides adding the Aerosmith-themed presentation, the game itself is basically identical to Guitar Hero III. This isn't really a bad thing, but considering this is a full-priced game, it would have been nice if there would have been a little more overall variations. The track list here is quite good though, with even some bonus tracks from Joe Perry's Joe Perry Project to find and play too, along with some bonus interviews with the band. Getting through the game isn't that much of a challenge though if you're a Guitar Hero veteran, as the game proves to be not all that difficult compared to previous Guitar Hero games. It should also go without saying that if you aren't a fan of Aerosmith, this probably isn't for you. All in all, Guitar Hero: Aerosmith is an enjoyable diversion that fans of the band will get a lot of enjoyment out of for a while, but in the end, the game doesn't offer enough bang for your buck.
Customer Rating: Summary: Woo Hoo! Comment: Yes! What a great guitar hero game. So what are the games problems? I didn't give it a 5 so it must have problems right? Well there is no donwloadble content. You are stuck with the songs you get on this disc. Also, the song features less songs than guitar hero 3 and 2. Now what makes this game so good. Lot's of aerosmith songs! Many people have complained about how there are so many older songs on this disc. The majority of the aerosmith songs are songs that are most likely before your time and before their 90's era when they were so well known. BUT this does not make those old 70's songs on this disc no good. Just because you haven't heard it before does not mean you can't enjoy it.
There is just too much complaining from people who claim to be aerosmith fans, because they never heard of so many of these songs. Here is a hint guys, if you truly are an aerosmith fan you will learn to appreciate and enjoy many of these older songs. If it wasn't for early aerosmith you wouldn't have 90's aerosmith. Catch my drift?
Another complaint about the game has been it's difficulty, but truthfully this could be a good thing. I was dissapointed of the extreme difficulty of Guitar Hero 3 on expert. If you feel the same way as I do, you will actually appreciate the easier difficulty. Even though the songs may be easier to pass, they are not easier to full combo and sometimes 5 star on expert. So once you beat this game on expert, if you are like me, you will continue playing until you 5 star everything and then move onto trying to full combo everything(good luck with that, some of these songs are insane).
This game is good. Many critics have heavily criticized the game for it's lack of content and it's lack of well known Aerosmith songs. Blah, blah. If you appreciate the music of Aerosmith, you WILL fall in love with this game despite the game's flaws.
